Celebrities hit the red carpet again for SAG awards

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

After the Golden Globes were canceled due to the writers strike, it was only a matter of time until the celebs found a reason to get back in their best dress again. It appears they went all out for this one, especially with accessories. Even Ana Ortiz, the start of Ugly Betty wore more than $500,000 in Kwiat Diamonds. Strapless dresses seemed to be the hit on the red carpet, but Eva Longoria looked especially hot in her white open back dress from designer Naeem Khan. The best dressed pics can be seen here.

PEOPLE magazine and the Entertainment Industry Foundation sponsored the after party. The stars kicked up their heels and celebrated through the night. Pictures can be seen here.

Short and Chic

Friday, January 18th, 2008

You can study the runway, flip through the magazines, take notes on the red carpet, and you will find that the short gown is all the rage! The trend first exploded in the 1980’s, now in the year 2008 you should prepare for a massive comeback.

Short gowns are more comfortable, easier to fit (no hemming necessary!), and just plain fun! With companies like Jovani, Sherri Hill and Faviana devoting a significant portion of their lines to short gowns, the trend is sure to make a splash for PROM 2008. Though cocktail style short gowns are the most prominent, they aren’t the only option in short frocks.

The baby doll dress is a popular find for PROM 08, with an empire waist and a flowing skirt.

Bubble skirts appear to tuck underneath the short skirt and is a complimentary style for short physiques.

Tea-length hems for short gowns work better for tall girls and long legs.

Full skirts are a trendy take on the short gown. With the appearance of a ball gown, the short and full skirt stops just short of the knees.
