Yes, that’s right. Disney’s Hannah Montana, aka Miley Cyrus, has fallen victim to the artistic photo shoot. Taking a road that so many others before her have dared to go down, the teenage pop sensation posed nearly nude for a forthcoming edition of Vanity Fair. The pictures, which began circulating online over the weekend show a seemingly topless Cyrus draped in a cloth that looks like a bed sheet. Other photos include her Dad, country music star Billy Ray Cyrus.

Cyrus released a statement on Sunday saying that she was “embarrassed” by the photos.

“My goal in my music and my acting is always to make people happy. For Vanity Fair, I was so honored and thrilled to work with [photographer] Annie [Leibovitz]. I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be ‘artistic’ and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed,” The singer said to People magazine.

In a statement from the Disney Channel,, a representative said, “Unfortunately, as the article suggests, a situation was created to deliberately manipulate a 15-year-old in order to sell magazines.”This incident comes on the heels of other circulating photos that picture the young star in some racy positions with friends. Some show Cyrus in her underwear, lowering her tank to show her lime green bra, and even kissing a girlfriend. The Vanity Fair article addressed the earlier photos with questions to which Miley’s response was a little less than apologetic.

“It was me,” she told the magazine, “on my MySpace. For me, I was like, That’s two girls — it’s not a big deal. … I was just like it didn’t affect me.”

It’s true, the girl is a teenager and under constant scrutiny, but what does she expect? She is one of the highest paid teen celebrities in the business, of course they are watching your every move and just waiting to eat you alive.
