Last week’s Dancing With the Stars premiere drew 24 million viewers! Idol? A measly 22 million. This season’s cast of DWTS is more controversial than ever and is surely the reason for the ratings spike. Or it could be the likes of Pamela Anderson, pussycat doll Nicole Scherzinger and Erin Andrews in scantily clad costumes?

As for trumping Fox’s American Idol, the credit may not solely belong to a banging DWTS cast, Idol seriously sucks this time! The addition of Ellen is just a distraction from the talent that isn’t that great. I will be staying tuned to DWTS, and not for Kate Gosselin…her reputation precedes her and proves to be correct (total b—- with some serious insecurities. My attention is on Derek Hough, as always!

District Attorney Harvey Dent (aka Two Face) in the Batman spin-off The Dark Knight may have played a two-faced villain in the mega-blockbuster movie, but the actor Aaron Eckhart also plays two faces in real life.

Between movie sets, Eckhart has been moonlighting as a photographer! Eckhart tells PEOPLE magazine that he has a new obsession — fashion photography. He recently shot his first campaign for pal Molly Sims, showcasing her new jewelry line.  At the line’s New York City launch last week, he had this to say:

“I’m obsessed with it–it’s all I do,” he says. “That’s really the only thing I think about.” He goes on to say,  “Straight-up fashion photography in the studio–that’s not what I necessarily aspire to, you know? I like to be outside, on location, making up stories,” he says. “That’s where my acting comes in.”

The actor is set to star in an upcoming movie with Nicole Kidman later this year. Then what? A professional photography career?

“I will if somebody asks me,” he says. “Hopefully I’ll do exhibitions and all that sort of stuff. I’m really just a photography geek. I just love to shoot.”

Though James Cameron fell short of the “Best Picture” Oscar with his blockbuster film, Avatar, he raked in the dough at the box office; grossing more than 2 billion dollars in sales, the highest ever. The buzz about the film revolved around the amazing 3D (and even 4D) effects, reflecting a breakthrough in cinematic technology. But perhaps the most unusual buzz came when the language spoken by the film’s extraterrestrial beings, Na’vi, became an instant sensation, sweeping the the web.

Just 24 hours after the premiere of Avatar, the website Language Log, hosted a Q&A with the Na’vi language’s creator Paul Frommer; and the phenomenon of Na’vi took off. People became obsessed with the newly created tongue and wanted to speak it themselves. There are countless followers who claim to be fluent in Na’vi.

The creation of the language began back in 2005, four years before the film would reach theaters. Unlike other languages babbled by aliens in other films, Na’vi actually has a system. So much so that words and sentences not even spoken in the film can be formed using the system (once you figure that system out, of course). No dictionary has been written yet, but Frommer says he is thrilled to see people so enthralled with his language and he is impressed with their progress.

A lengthy statement was posted on the Language Log website by a user who figured out the system…

“Ngaru ätxäle … oel set futa Hal’liwutta tsayeyktanru ngal peng futa lì’fyati Na’viyä nume nereeiu a ngeyä wotxa lì’utìtäftxurenu sì aylì’uyä sänumeti perängey ayoel. Ayoel nereu a tsa’u ke tsayängun lu txo ayoel pänutìng futa rawketi sayi nìwotx ulte Eywafa ke txayey. Kawkrr!!”

Or, in English:

“I now ask you to tell the Hollywood bosses [Hal'liwutta tsayeyktanru] that those of us who want to learn the Na’vi language are waiting (impatiently) for your full grammar and lexicon. We promise to raise a lotta hell if what we want is not forthcoming, and ‘by Eywa’ we wont stop. Ever!!”

Maksim “Maks” Chmerkovskiy may be putting the moves on another dancer, well dancer in training, during season 10 of Dancing With The Stars. Maks, 30, says he and ESPN correspondent Andrews, 31, are “maybe” dating, according to Hollywoodlife.com.

“She’s very friendly, super nice, great personality,” he gushes to PEOPLE. “She does not hold back. She’s open, and what you see is what there is. Everybody who meets her falls in love with her.”

This relationship is “maybe” spawning on the heels of his break-up with fellow (and former) dancing pro, Karina Smirnoff. After their first routine with Erin was finished on Monday night, Maks had this to say:

“I’m so proud,” he told PEOPLE. “I made her do a cha cha that I would make a professional dancer do.”

Andrews seems equally enthralled with her mentor, “This one has been amazing,” she said. “When Kentucky was upset (referring to the NCAA basketball tourney), he texted me about it. He was like, ‘You’re the only person I know that cares about this.’ He’s been adorable.”

After a nail-biting finish to the highly anticipated vote on Health Care Reform, the Vice President of the United States forever soiled the occasion with his obscenities, caught by an extremely hot mic. After his brief comments at the signing ceremony (for perhaps the most important piece of legislation since Medicare), he turned the microphone over to the prez with the whisper heard around the world.

“This is a big f—ing deal,” Biden said as he chuckled.

You are so right Joe, this is a big deal…the most profound moment of Obama’s presidency, marred by the mouth of an idiot. Joe Biden acts like he is hanging out with his college roommates in a sports bar, instead of co-managing a country.

It seems to me, if Biden really knew what a big f—ing deal this was, he wouldn’t be so lackadaisical to use that kind of language, hot microphone or not.

The cute little Olsen twins joined the club of actors-turned-designers with the creation of a clothing collection featured in Wal-mart stores. They followed, with slightly higher end merchandise, with  The Row and then Elizabeth & James. Now, the pair have done it again with the unveiling of a new clothing line this Spring. Mary Kate and Ashley will design high fashion street clothes at affordable prices for the juniors collection at JCPenney chain stores.

Haul Videos, the newest viral craze, is transforming your average shopaholic teenagers into mall-place moguls. It began as a simple form of fashion blogging, teens showing off their latest purchases via skype or other web video mediums. With more than 110,000 YouTube videos currently circulating, it has quickly become big business for numerous fashion brands. Teenagers reviewing products and merchandise, giving companies virtually free advertising.

Perhaps two of the phenomenon’s biggest stars are teen sisters from Tennessee, Elle and Blaire Fowler. The pair have produced videos of their fashion reviews that have been viewed 75 million times! The opinions of these gals is so popular, companies have begun delivering merchandise to their home for review via video. A watch company completely sold out of a watch purchased by the Fowler sisters within 24 hours of their review. The company received so much traffic to their website, it crashed.

Their success has landed them a photo shoot with Seventeen magazine and a pending partnership with YouTube, offering them a cut of all revenue generated from their Haul Videos. Not bad for a day at the mall!

Just days after accepting the Oscar for her movie, The Blindside, Sandra Bullock was blindsided herself. Maybe biker Jesse James has inhaled too many exhaust fumes, or maybe he is just plain stupid. If married to Sandra Bullock, only an idiot would even look at another woman. Let alone a former Amish gal (that’s right…Amish) currently a mother of two and covered in tattoos.

Michelle McGee, a stripper in San Diego, says she carried on an 11-month affair with the Oscar winner’s hubby- and that he says his marriage was a sham and  “just for publicity.”

“I would never have hooked up with him if I thought he was a married man,” McGee told In Touch Weekly. “He gave me the impression they were separated.”

She said she met James at his motorcycle shop in Long Beach, while Sandra was filming The Blind Side.

“We ended up on the couch,” she said. “He wanted to watch movies, but I asked him, ‘What’s going on with you and Sandra?’”

“‘She doesn’t live here. She has a house in Austin. She is filming, and I can’t talk about it,’” James reportedly told her.

They had sex “two or three times” in his office that night, she said, and have been sleeping together for nearly a year.
