Tony Awards Arrivals

The Tony Awards red carpet was invaded by Hollywood celebrities last night. Stars like Scarlett Johansson, Naomi Watts, and Will and Jada Smith made the best-dressed list. Catherine Zeta-Jones seemed to blow them all away in her light blue Versace gown. Mississippi and Florida have begun “Yes, We’re Open” campaigns, in spite of the oil that is looming on their shores. It is estimated that tourists to the Gulf leave behind $60 billion in revenue each Summer. Even if the leaking well is plugged, the clean up could take months, even years.

The oil spill has obviously threatened the livelihood of many residents in the Gulf, and though a valiant effort, these ads are probably a waste of the taxpayer’s dollar.
