It is probably my most favorite commercial on the tube these days…it’s an E-Trade advertisement featuring talking babies. It is one of a series of advertisements starring some oh-so-cute tots and it is now the center of a lawsuit, thanks to Queen Lindsay.

Click here to view the embedded video.

Lindsay Lohan is suing the financial corporation, insisting that one of the babies — who happens to be named Lindsay — was modeled after her. The baby is referred to as a milk-a-holic (hilarious). Wonder what would give her the idea that the baby was modeled after her? The ad shows a baby boy apologizing to his girlfriend via webcam for not calling the night before. The baby girl(friend) asks, “So that milk-a-holic Lindsay wasn’t over?”

She wants $100 million for her pain and suffering. Lohan’s lawyer, Stephanie Ovadia, said the actress has the same single-name recognition as Oprah or Madonna. What? Are you kidding Lindsay? First of all, there are millions of Lindsays in the world. How many Oprahs or Madonnas do you know? Secondly, don’t flatter yourself, your name shouldn’t even be in the same sentence with showbiz icons.

Grow up…you are such a baby.

Alright, so the Academy had their little shin-dig last night, inviting hundreds of Hollywood hotties to strut their stuff. And by now, you’ve seen all the best (and worst) dressed lists. You’ve viewed the perfectly posed pics on the crimson carpet and you probably noticed that it was…boring.

The stars played it safe. Perhaps they have wised up, and realized that seeing their faces splashed across magazine covers with cruel comments may not be the confidence booster they need. Nevertheless, it makes for a pretty ho-hum morning after. Mediocrity aside, there were a few that pushed the envelope.

Zoe Saldana’s snowcone-esque gown by Riccardo Tisci (Givenchy) is getting mixed reviews. The stunning, “Natalia” gown was plucked from his summer collection. It is a strapless, chiffon, and shadow-dyed in various hues of purple. From a pale lilac bodice covered in crystals down to the bouffant hemline in a deep violet, this gown is being hailed as the best of the night by some, a red-carpet tragedy by others. Either way, you gotta hand it to her for courage. On a night when most stars blend into the background, the blue alien from “Avatar” shone bright.

The Lexington Avenue windows of Bloomingdale’s in Manhattan are looking a lot like a storybook these days. In loo of the upcoming Tim Burton interpretation of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland, Spring fashions reflect the kooky style of the movie’s characters. The Red Queen, The White Rabbit and The Cheshire Cat, among others, are arranged in a tea party setting using actual props from the movie!

These fashions aren’t derived from the Alice you remember from your adolescence. Burton’s Alice is distinctly more mature, she is edgy, adventurous and confident. That makes her the perfect muse for the unusual fashions of jeweller Tom Binns, Swarovski, Bloomingdale’s and makeup brand Urban Decay.

Swarovski has created replicas of the sparrow pendant worn by Mia Wasikowska, who plays Alice. Urban Decay created an eye shadow palette and displayed it in a box made to replicate a gold-spined book, complete with a keyhole latch. Cocktail dresses by Sue Wong mimic the tattered, edgy style of Alice and appeal to teens and misses alike.

“The whole package for each character, with its other-worldly hair, makeup and design combo almost echoes the mood of current popular culture,” says Avril Graham, executive fashion editor at Harper’s Bazaar. Graham also says it’s Burton’s explosion of color, texture and dramatic costumes that has people talking, she even compares the style with pop culture’s fascination with Lady Gaga.

You can get lost in Tim Burton’s wonderland tomorrow, when Alice in Wonderland opens in theaters across the country.

The 67th annual Golden Globes produced some trendsetters and some trend-forgetters. A common thread among designs that wowed is the one-shoulder silhouette. Those who did it best include Marion Cotillard in an emerald Christian Dior, Jennifer Aniston in a casual Valentino gown, Jane Krakowski in a plum gorgeous J. Mendel and Amy Poehler in a striking red Jay Godfrey.

One-shoulder gowns that got the cold shoulder from fashion critics include Drew Barrymore, whose nude Atelier Versace dress got flack for the “bulge” at the right hip. It does, in fact, look like she is growing barnacles. Other one-shoulder looks we’d like to forget include Anna Kendrick in Marchesa and Sigourney Weaver in a not-so-flattering Herve L. Leroux.

Penelope Cruz definitely stole the red-carpet show in her off-the-shoulder Armani gown. The beautiful lace and tiered ruffle hem are only the icing on the curvacious Cruz cake.

Actually, Robert Pattinson has been deemed Sexiest Man Alive. People Magazine’s annual issue has chosen Twilight, New Moon’s teen vampire as 2009’s sexiest guy. Robert is actually 23 years old and claims “I still can’t get a date.”

Maybe he should bathe. Sources from his movie sets claim Robert’s hygiene is terrible and that gorgeous messy hair? Dirty, oily and likely weeks without a wash! So, swoon on teenie-boppers…his smell is surely overpowered by his bite.

Other hotties joining Robert on 2009’s list include John Legend, Adam Lambert, Jerry O’Connell, Bradley Cooper, David Beckham and the guys from Glee.

Hollywood Hunk Robert Pattinson is stirring up quite a frenzy on the set of his new film, New Moon. But the ruckus isn’t from swarming paparazzi or frenzied fans, it’s from the stench that exudes from the star himself. The buzz about his terrible body odor is taking center stage.

Twilight’s hottest vampire has publicly admitted that he doesn’t have a sense of personal hygiene. In an interview with Extra, the star says he doesn’t think it’s necessary to wash his hair — or his body for that matter. When asked if it was true that he once said he hadn’t washed his hair for six weeks, he answered, “Probably. I don’t know. I don’t really see the point in washing your hair.”

Pattinson’s lack of hygiene has been dismissed as a typical European aversion of daily showers. However, some crew members on the set of his latest films feel differently.

“He stinks. I mean, it’s awful. He never showers, and it drives people on the set crazy,” dishes someone who works in very close quarters with Pattz.

“He completely reeks,” complains another annoyed crewmember.

Pattz isn’t the first smokin’ hot celeb to avoid the shower. Keanu Reeves, Brad Pitt and Matthew McConaughey have all reportedly left personal hygiene and grooming by the wasteside.

Lindsay Lohan has had more than her fair share of the limelight in her short 22-year existence. Seems like she graces the tabloids every week with some new and outrageous stunt. From her recent DUI trouble to spats with her lesbian lover, Samantha Ronson.

The model turned singer turned actress turned alcholic faces mobs of paparazzi on a daily basis and tons of media blurbs analyzing her every move.

Just this week, Lilo has been ditched in Vegas by Sam, violated her probation, evaded police and been involved in two automobile scrape-ups (she wasn’t driving). Yet, she still found time to go shopping with Kanye West in Hollywood! What a busy gal! Below is a timeline of the whirlwind week for Lilo.

March 9: Sam Ronson ditches Lindsay in a Las Vegas Club, sending Lilo into a rage.

March 13: Warrant issued for Lindsay Lohan’s arrest…stemming from a 2007 DUI charge. She has apparently skipped a few alcohol education classes, violating the terms of her probation.

March 13: After learning of her arrest warrant, Lindsay flees to hide out at Jack Nicholson’s house (strange). Upon entering his driveway, her driver scrapes the wall.

March 14: Cops are called to Sam Ronson’s house for a domestic disturbance. Turns out, the pair were fighting (surprise) when Lindsay threw something and a window was broken. Cops tried to serve Lilo’s arrest warrant then, but neither Sam nor the fugitive would open the door.

March 16: Linds is leaving Sky Bar when her driver crashed into one of the bar’s impossible-to-miss, 30-foot tall, mahogany doors (no injuries). She should just walk, or ride a bike.

I honestly had not heard much about the Oscar winning film until it’s ten nominations from the Academy. In the weeks preceeding the Academy Awards Show, there was much to do about the film and its cast, the Slumdog Millionaire kids were all over the media. And now that they have walked the red carpet and the film has taken home eight Academy Awards, those kids are becoming increasingly more intriguing. So, who are they? How did they reach super-stardom?

Click here to view the embedded video.

Actor Dev Patel plays the lead role of Jamal Malik; the stages of life for Jamal are played by Ayush Mahesh Khedekar (Young Jamal) and Tanay Hemant Chheda (Middle Jamal). Madhur Mittal plays the part of Salim; the stages of his life are played by Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail Sheikh (Young Salim) and Ashutosh Lobo Gajiwala (Middle Salim). Freida Pinto plays Latika; the childhood stages are played by Rubina Ali (Young Latika) and Tanvi Ganesh Lonkar (Middle Latika)

The poorest of the castmates, Azharuddin Ismail, 10, and Rubina Ali, eight, currently live in appalling conditions in one of Mumbai’s most squalid areas. Azharuddin lives with his mother, who is blind in one eye, and his father, a tuberculosis-sufferer, by the side of a bustling road in a lean-to of tarpaulin sheets because they cannot afford a house. Rubina lives in a one-room bubble-gum pink tin shack next to train tracks, with an open sewer running past her door. It is estimated that about 65 million Indians, roughly a quarter of the urban population, live in slums.

The two youngest Slumdog stars were plucked straight from the slums. Casting agents discovered Rubina and Azharuddin in the ghastly Garib Nagar slum and cast them to star in the film’s opening scenes. The children were paid for 30 days of acting work, the families were given a small monthly stipend and trust funds were set up for Rubina and Azhar to access once they graduate. The children’s families have also been given a “flat” by the Mumbai Housing Authority. It is a chance to get out of the slums and into a real house.

“These two children have brought laurels to the country,” said Gautam Chatterjee, head of Mumbai’s housing authority.

My question is, how do you take a Nicholas Sparks novel, add Richard Gere and Diane Lane, and have it turn out this badly. All the signs where there for a great movie, but in the end, it just fell flat. I haven’t read the book, so lets hope it was better. There was little here worth mentioning other than it was VERY formulaic for a romance-drama. So much so that you can figure out what happens without even seeing the movie. Frank Lovece from over at filmjournal.com said it best:

It’s the film of a Lifetime…cable network.

If you find you happen to watch the Lifetime channel at least a couple hours a day, you might like this film. If you are looking for something creative and/or thought provoking this is not for you. If you make your boyfriend go, try not to laugh at the parts where you are supposed to be crying. Nights of Rodanthe is currently scoring a 29% on rottentomatoes, and a paltry 5.6 on the imdb.
