Who else has a sex tape?

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

carrie-prejean-picYet another sex tape involving a sexy starlet (well, in this case…a wannabe starlet) has surfaced. Carrie Prejean, the former Miss California, infamous for her opposition to gay marriage, has released a statement saying the recently divulged tape was “the biggest mistake of her life.”

Carrie said she was just a teenager when she sent an intimate video of herself to an ex-boyfriend. The tape surfaced when the dethroned queen pursued a settlement with the Miss USA organization for a whopping amount totaling more than $1,000,000. The pageant’s lawyers showed Prejean the x-rated tape of her and…herself. Prejean quickly dropped the whole thing. She walked away with nothing.

Why don’t we ever hear about sex tapes from less attractive people? Like Tom Arnold or Rosie O’Donnell? Are the pretty people the only naive ones to think that no one else will ever see their home videos?

You’re Fired!

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

The highly-publicized and biblically-correct Miss California, Carrie Prejean is officially out! But not because of her religious beliefs say top Miss USA Pageant officials, including the Trumpster himself.

In a press release, unveiled just yesterday, Miss USA California officials claim Prejean failed to attend over 30 events scheduled by the organization.

“…after our press conference in New York we had hoped we would be able to forge a better working relationship…”

“…it has become abundantly clear that Carrie is unwilling to fulfill her obligations under our contract and work together.”

The Miss USA Organization maintains that the firing of Prejean is strictly based on Carrie breaching her contract. It’s not based on her political and moral views. Her replacement is Miss Malibu Tami Farrell.

Toddlers in Tiffany Designs

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

flwrgrlTLC’s newest reality series takes a behind-the-scenes look at child beauty competitions. The show comes on the heels of a documentary by TLC on that very subject. Viewers were so fascinated by the show that TLC decided to spin it off into a new reality show with the same name.

“Toddlers and Tiaras” will follow a number of contestants of different ages, including kids under 5, through the pageant scene. The show’s producers say, “The series showcases the traditional elements of child pageants, jam-packed with stage moms and dads, hair extensions, spray tanning, makeup, and glitter. It features extremely non-traditional and modern aspects of the pageant scene, from girls entering the competitive landscape with less makeup and a more natural look, to pageants with boys mixed into the competition.”

The most recent installment of Toddlers and Tiaras featured a gown by Tiffany Designs. The gorgeous lime/turq/black combination can be found on our website, click here.

The TLC website describes the new show:

On any given weekend, on stages across the country, little girls and boys parade around wearing makeup, false eyelashes, spray tans and fake hair to be judged on their beauty, personality and costumes. Toddlers and Tiaras follows families on their quest for sparkly crowns, big titles, and lots of cash.

The preparation is intense as it gets down to the final week before the pageant. From hair and nail appointments, to finishing touches on gowns and suits, to numerous coaching sessions or rehearsals, each child preps for their performance. But once at the pageant, it’s all up to the judges and drama ensues when every parent wants to prove that their child is beautiful.

Some call it exploitation, a mother living out her own dreams through a toddler too young to disagree. Or perhaps it is fun, just like recreational soccer leagues or cheer camp. Agree with it or not, Pageantry is a $5 billion a year biz and can actually bring contestants excellent benefits, like scholarship money, new cars and family vacations. You can catch Toddlers and Tiaras Tuesday nights at 10:00 on TLC.

The CW brings beauty pageants to primetime

Thursday, December 27th, 2007

Beauty pageants have been apart of American culture for nearly a century. The tradition began as a publicity stunt concocted by a hotel owner in Atlantic City. To entice visitors to vacation after the Labor Day holiday, the hotelmen hosted a fall festival, with beautiful women competing for the title of “Most Beautiful Bathing Beauty in America.” Over the years, the pageant blossomed into what we now know as the Miss America pageant. The pageant has spawned similar events like Miss United States, Miss World, Miss Universe, etc.

The CW premiered it’s new hit show, “Crowned: Mother of all Pageants” in mid-December. For eight weeks, mother-daughter teams will compete in a series of challenges that will test their wit, charm and stamina. The challenge winners get cash and ultimately the daughters contend for the Crowned title and gasp…a tiara! The latest episode featured the teams browsing Jovani gowns and Alisha Hill shoes (both designers have collections you too can browse through on our website, www.cbslimited.com!).

Previous episodes have involved the contestants in the creation of their very own team name, the selection of swimsuit attire and the performance of fitness routines. Things are also heating up in the house shared by all eleven teams. Personalities clash and tempers flare as these beauty queen hopefuls vie for the opportunity to be Crowned.

A long way from the bathing beauties on the Atlantic City Beach, pageants have evolved into a multi-million dollar business for organizers and vendors alike. You can catch all new episodes of Crowned on the CW on Wednesday nights. You can also catch all new gowns from the top designers on our website, anytime!

Miss New Jersey Scandal

Wednesday, August 15th, 2007

If you haven’t heard by now, the current Miss New Jersey, Amy Polumbo, is currently suffering from what we like to call “picture remorse.” This is kind of like “buyers remorse,” only once your pictures hit the internet, you can’t take them back for a refund! Well, the bad publicity for Miss Polumbo has turned into positive publicity for Faviana. Miss New Jersey won her crown donning Faviana’s 5958 dress, and the company is now receiving calls daily asking about the style. Navid Moradi (the owner), in an interview with the New York Post said:

“We’re being swamped with calls from all our stores wanting to reorder it. It’s fantastic,” Faviana co-president Navid Moradi told us. “What’s funny is we didn’t even know Amy had worn our dress, but I was watching the ‘Today’ show when I saw footage of Amy’s win and said, ‘Oh my God, that’s our style No. 5958.’ We feel sorry for Amy, but we’re ecstatic, too.”

Amy released these pictures to NBC and The Today Show because someone was using them to blackmail her into giving up her crown. Did anyone investigate the runner-up?

Although the photos are slightly racy, it really isn’t that big of a deal. Britney is going crazy while taking care of two kids, Li-Lo is in rehab, and the public gets mad at this girl for taking pictures with her clothes ON. Why is this even a story? Amy will be keeping her crown, and serving out the rest of her term as Jersey’s top lady.
