Impression bridal took the formal wear market by storm when they introduced a hot, sexy new prom line…Xcite nearly seven years ago. The company has made waves each season since and has quickly become one the industry’s top prom designers.
This past weekend I had the pleasure of previewing the 2012 line in Cancun, Mexico! Xcite held it’s annual fashion show prom preview in sunny Cancun and invited retailers from all over the continent! Guests enjoyed the weekend at the all-inclusive Cancun Palace resort and sat in on the prom preview fashion show. The new line showcased brand new silhouettes and exquisite bead work, as well as a few old favorites!
If Xcite’s line is any indication of the coming prom season, watch out! This one’s gonna be hot!

This season’s hottest trend is a new take on the one-shoulder dress that has been so popular in seasons past. This Fall, instead of one shoulder strap, it’s one sleeve! That’s right, an entire sleeve on one side, and a bare shoulder/arm on the other!
Hot designers like Jovani, Sherri Hill and Tony Bowls are leading the way this Fall with gorgeous one-sleeve gowns, like the one shown above. Stay connected to cbslimited.com for all the new styles, coming soon!

Happy Birthday America! Tomorrow we celebrate the 234th birthday of our nation. Our forefathers signed the Declaration of Independence over two centuries ago, declaring freedom from Great Britain, on a day that is still the most celebrated Summer holiday in the U.S.

Tony Dovolani, partner to the infamous Kate Gosslin on Season 10 of Dancing With the Stars, recently took a modeling gig with gown designer Sherri Hill. In March, the dancing Dovolani participated in a photo shoot with some of America’s most beautiful beauty queens.
Nicole Johnson-Miss California USA 2010, Audrey Moore-Miss Alabama USA 2010, Morgan Woolard-Miss Oklahoma USA 2010, and Alyssa Campanella-Miss New Jersey Teen USA 2008 joined Tony in advertising shots. Many of which were dancing poses.
ABC must not be paying too well these days…or maybe Tony loves the spotlight. Either way, the photos made for awesome ad shots! They are coming soon to cbslimited.com!

Last night, history was made on the Miss USA stage. Miss Michigan Rima Fakih became the first Arab-American to be crowned Miss USA 2010.
She was gorgeous and absolutely flawless in every way, until the evening gown portion that is. Rima stumbled on stage as she got caught in the train of her gown. Nevertheless, judges saw past the mistake and crowned her Miss USA 2010!

We’ve all seen trashy prom dresses, but an Iowa teen will actually wear trash as a prom dress. Elizabeth Rasmunson fashioned a prom gown out of Wrigley’s “5 Gum” bubble gum wrappers. She and her boyfriend Jordan Weaver began collecting the blue and white wrappers in August. The pair even had enough to make a matching vest for Jordan!

In a troubled economy, with a record-setting unemployment rate, a fancy prom gown may be the last thing on your list. Seventeen Magazine showcased some of the season’s hottest looks, with a reasonable price tag, on “LIVE! With Regis and Kelly” this morning.
Models wore the top five trends for Prom 2010, all retailing under $200! Ombre-shaded gowns, gold tones and romantic/Victorian styles lead the way. The addition of rosettes to bodices or hemlines, along with tiered ruffles capture the Victorian period in a simply romantic way!
Perhaps the biggest style trend to look for is the one-shoulder gown. On a long gown or short, sequined or simple, one shoulder elegance is irresistible.
