Faviana is perhaps most famous for it’s ability to copy-cat red carpet styles and recreate them for much less than the designer originals. After Sunday’s Oscars, their design team got busy and replicated the stars’ styles, unveiling them this morning on NBC’s The Today Show. View the video
Queen Latifah sparkled in a Badgley Mischka design. The lilac one-shoulder gown was recreated at a fraction of the cost…just $298 by Faviana.
A bold look on the red carpet, Maggie Gyllenhaal (above) captivated photogs in a Dries Van Noten hand-painted print. The gown was made just for Maggie. Van Noten also designed her wedding gown. Faviana has fashioned Gyllenhaal’s Oscar look for it’s own line for a mere $258.
All recreated styles will be available in four to six weeks at Faviana retailers worldwide.

Seventeen Prom helps to narrow your search for the perfect prom gown, providing guidelines based on your body shape.

Extra Tall beauties are best suited in ruched styles (left). The gathered material hugs the body, accentuating those legs! Long legs are also well-showcased in gowns with high-low hemlines (right). The short front to show ‘em off and the long length in the back to balance.

For Petites, Seventeen recommends a mermaid style gown (left); also known as a trumpet skirt. I must say, I have to disagree with this one. Short gals will likely be cutting off a good chunk of that mermaid-style skirt. What a waste of money!
Another option, is the oh-so-popular bubble skirt (right). Typically found on a short gown, this style is perfect for petites! A short gown in general is usually a good pick for the vertically challenged (elongates those legs!) as long as the gown hits at least three inches above the knee. Anything longer just looks matronly.

Curvy Girls can bring attention to the bust and shoulders with a one-shoulder gown (left). One shoulder strapped and the other bare, draws the eye up and is simultaneously slimming!
Also keep a look out fora-line styles, particularly the empire waistline (right). A tight fitting bodice that flares just under the bust line helps to camouflage all those curves you don’t want recognized while accentuating those you do!

Pear-shaped like the majority of women in the United States? The new trend, grecian styles, work well for us! Jeweled necklines that are typically thick and form a choker around the neck are the hottest trend for both casual and formal wear. Lucky us!
Tiered skirts with layers of fabric are also a plus. Maybe it’s the optical illusion created by so much fabric, but this style is a hip minimizer and bust maximizer…turning your pear-shaped body into the coveted coke bottle instantaneously.

As twisted and demented as it may sound, that is the buzz about Hollywood since the 48-year-old D-lister showed up to the Teen Choice Awards on Sunday night with 19-year-old Levi Johnston by her side. On the red carpet, the pair held hands, whispered to each other and even made reference to their relationship as long-distance “lovers”.
“Long-distance relationships are not easy, especially when he’s in his igloo and I’m in my Hollywood tower,” said Griffin.
Is this for real? Has Kathy Griffin become queen of the cougars by snaggin Bristol Palin’s baby-daddy? Or more likely, is this just another putrid attempt to drag out the teen father’s fifteen minutes of fame? Griffin did say that their appearance was not just a stunt and was not being filmed for her reality series, My Life on the D-List.

Dancing With The Stars has seen a fair share of injury and incident in its latest season. A total of five celebs have been injured thus far. (This is only week two!) Season 8 premiered last Monday sans two big stars, Jewel and Nancy O’dell. Both were forced to quit the show, before it even began!
Jewel fractured both of her tibias during practice for the competition.
O’Dell went down with a torn meniscus that will require surgery.
Both Jewel and O’Dell were replaced, just a week before the season premiere, by Bachelor castoff Melissa Rycroft and Playboy playmate Holly Madison.

The newest star to join the injured list is Apple co-founder, Steve Wozniak. Despite a cast on his left leg, Wozniak wants to continue. He was seen leaving an L.A. dance studio just last week, wear he prepared to soldier on through the competition.
“He has decided to continue because he loves the show so much. He has seen a doctor and is taking precautions and resting his foot whenever he can.” said an ABC spokesperson.
Jackass star, Steve-O has been battling an ongoing back injury. He says he’s had to walk through his salsa routine, rather than actually practice all the tricks they’ve incorporated. Sex in the City hottie, Gilles Marini won’t let a separated shoulder keep him from performing the quick-step. He had this to say in an interview with The Insider :
“[Last] Monday morning I heard a little crack and had a sharp pain in my shoulder. I didn’t want to say anything. I had an X-ray and found out I have a separated shoulder. I got a cortisone shot and it’s much better.”

TLC’s newest reality series takes a behind-the-scenes look at child beauty competitions. The show comes on the heels of a documentary by TLC on that very subject. Viewers were so fascinated by the show that TLC decided to spin it off into a new reality show with the same name.
“Toddlers and Tiaras” will follow a number of contestants of different ages, including kids under 5, through the pageant scene. The show’s producers say, “The series showcases the traditional elements of child pageants, jam-packed with stage moms and dads, hair extensions, spray tanning, makeup, and glitter. It features extremely non-traditional and modern aspects of the pageant scene, from girls entering the competitive landscape with less makeup and a more natural look, to pageants with boys mixed into the competition.”
The most recent installment of Toddlers and Tiaras featured a gown by Tiffany Designs. The gorgeous lime/turq/black combination can be found on our website, click here.
The TLC website describes the new show:
On any given weekend, on stages across the country, little girls and boys parade around wearing makeup, false eyelashes, spray tans and fake hair to be judged on their beauty, personality and costumes. Toddlers and Tiaras follows families on their quest for sparkly crowns, big titles, and lots of cash.
The preparation is intense as it gets down to the final week before the pageant. From hair and nail appointments, to finishing touches on gowns and suits, to numerous coaching sessions or rehearsals, each child preps for their performance. But once at the pageant, it’s all up to the judges and drama ensues when every parent wants to prove that their child is beautiful.
Some call it exploitation, a mother living out her own dreams through a toddler too young to disagree. Or perhaps it is fun, just like recreational soccer leagues or cheer camp. Agree with it or not, Pageantry is a $5 billion a year biz and can actually bring contestants excellent benefits, like scholarship money, new cars and family vacations. You can catch Toddlers and Tiaras Tuesday nights at 10:00 on TLC.

The media has had a field day with the new First Lady’s wardrobe choices lately. She has appeared bare-armed on three separate occasions this week. First in an emerald, tea-length dress she wore to present the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize to Stevie Wonder. Then again on the cover of People Magazine in a sleeveless magenta Tracy Reese frock. Then on Tuesday night, it happened, perhaps the most controversial showing of her biceps at the President’s first congressional address. She wore a plum Narciso Rodriguez dress…sans sleeves and ignited the fury that has been deemed, Lady Obama’s right to bear arms.

“While her sleeveless dress trend is definitely a talking point, she’s always very conservative in other ways. The dresses are often cut below the knee, and it’s not a deep, plunging neckline,” says Glamour.com’s senior fashion editor, Susan Cernek. “She’s balancing out the expanse of skin on her arms by not showing too much elsewhere. That’s what makes her look very appropriate.”
While our new first lady has been hailed as the most fashionable first lady since Jackie O, some think she is taking her fashion sense too far. Going sleeveless in Congress, during WInter, is next to tawdriness according to some Chicago Tribune readers.
“Does the lady not understand that these Big Speech Events are serious and important? Not a cocktail party?” e-mailed one Tribune reader, who said she scanned the crowd for other bare arms and spied none. “The season is winter. The occasion is business. Dress was wrong place and time.”
