Faviana makes Golden Globe dresses on TV tonight

If you are a fan of celebrity dresses, you will want to watch Access Hollywood TONIGHT! One of our favorite manufacturers, Faviana, will be featured as they reveal their “Red Carpet Replicas” just 48 hours after the Golden Globes. This year they will be showing how they make dresses worn by Kate Winslet, Eva Longoria, Jennifer Lopez and Eva Mendes. It is a neat little look behind the scenes of a dress maker, how they pick which styles to make, and how samples are made for the factory to put into production. Access Hollywood is on at 7:30 in most areas, but check your local TIVO to be sure.

NEW Search Tool For Prom Dresses

We here at CB’s are proud to present a brand new feature for the site. The Dress Builder! It is an online tool that can take a lot of time out of your search for that perfect prom dress. We designed the Dress Builder to allow our prom shoppers to be very precise, or just browse through the thousands of dresses available.

Have you noticed how difficult it is to find the perfect prom dress? Most of the websites out there are sorted like ours, by the name of the manufacturer. So unless you know what manufacturer carries the type of dresses you like, you are guaranteed to spend many hours looking through each and every vendor till you find that perfect dress. We designed the Dress Builder to change that and help our customers narrow down their search to find exactly what they are looking for.

If you want a red dress, simply check red, click update and you will see every dress pictured in Red on the site.

If you want a red cocktail dress, with a halter neck, and a low back, you can view them all in just 3 clicks!

It took us a while to get this all together, so we hope you enjoy! The search by color feature is pretty cool and it’s something people have asked for in the past. Currently only prom dresses can be viewed in the Dress Builder, but in the coming months we will turn on the ability to search for Bridesmaid and Pageant dresses, along with more detailed dress options. Tiffany prom dress sale… already!

These are brand new, never tried on factory overruns from 2007 and 8 that are now marked down up to $100 and can be found starting about halfway down on pages 6-12. If you are looking to save a bit on your prom purchase this year, this is your chance to get a designer dress at a good price.

About 90 total dresses in sizes 0-30 have been marked down. Shipping is immediate, but only the sizes and colors listed are available to order. There will be no other sales until after the prom season (June).

Sherri Hill 2009 runway VIDEO!

Sherri Hill has put out a video for their 2009 prom line! It is basically a runway show with some pictures spliced in, and worth looking at. You might be asking yourself, ‘… but what do I get for my 2 minutes of time spent on YouTube?’ The answer: A 360 view of many hot dresses, complete with a fan effect at the end of the stage to give the models that flowing hair! How very MTV of them! The style numbers are not shown in the video, but you should be able to locate them fairly easily in the Sherri Hill Prom section on our site.

Just another quick Whats in the Window (WITW) update. We still don’t have our act together on writing down the actual style numbers and posting them here… we suck! The window is setup with a Halloween/Fall theme this week and I just wanted to share it with all our loyal readers… of which we have 2… hi mom and dad!

2009 Jovani Dresses posted

One of prom’s biggest players is ready to rock! Jovani has released the 2009 prom line and we have it posted online. As with everyone else in the prom world this year, there is a heavy emphasis on prints. Jovani brings back the fashion forward look every girl wants to have, and has to take out a small loan to afford! The good news is: the line is reasonably priced this year. Prices are ranging from $250′ish all the way to $OMG ($1300). With around 200 new styles, Jovani is hoping to attract more prom princesses with well rounded and affordable dresses. WE are hoping to attract more sales because Jovani sent us hi-res images that our little photoshoppers went into and made some super close detail shots. Here are a couple below:

Remember not to spend most of your time looking at one line! With Jovani having so many dresses this season, you could literally spend a week looking at just one vendor. So remember to check out different manufacturers before you settle on a dress.

Sherri Hill is back for 2009 and let me tell you how excited we are… woopee!! Short cocktail dresses and straight gowns all of which have something unique. Get ready for multi color prints, intricate beading and/or floral appliques on the fronts, and strappy and low sexy backs. Be sure to keep a careful eye on prices as some of these dresses can go up to $700! Also, if you are looking for an entry level pageant gown, this would be a good line to look at.

Whats in the window #2

We are still gearing up for our “whats in the window” (WITW) series here on the blog. The first WITW from last week was the RIGHT side of the window from the CB’s retail store… this is the LEFT side. We are still working out all the mess for doing this on a semi-consistent basis. The next WITW post will have only 2009 prom dresses, and they will be labeled so you can go see them directly on our site (and buy them).
