Travolta family loses son…

John Travolta and Kelly Preston lost their first born son on their recent vacation to the Bahamas. Being the parent of 2 children I can imagine that this has to be the toughest thing that they have or ever will go through. The death of their 16 year old son Jett was something that they never saw coming so quickly, nor does it look like it could have been prevented given the care that he had always been given. Our prayers and condolences go out to the Travolta family. By the way…go give your kids a hug today!

Sherri Hill 2009 runway VIDEO!

Sherri Hill has put out a video for their 2009 prom line! It is basically a runway show with some pictures spliced in, and worth looking at. You might be asking yourself, ‘… but what do I get for my 2 minutes of time spent on YouTube?’ The answer: A 360 view of many hot dresses, complete with a fan effect at the end of the stage to give the models that flowing hair! How very MTV of them! The style numbers are not shown in the video, but you should be able to locate them fairly easily in the Sherri Hill Prom section on our site.

“O” Magazine features Faviana prom dress

One of our more popular vendors, Faviana, has managed to grace the pages of “O” magazine with one of their 2009 Prom Dresses. They are a New York based gown manufacturer that is well known for their celebrity inspired dresses. Most of you are familiar with this ever popular magazine that was created by Oprah Winfrey. Style number 6213 is a style that was inspired by the movie Enchanted. The subject of the magazine section was “Look Like a Million…Without Going Broke.

Faviana featured on Starz channel tonight!

One of our favorite manufacturers is going to be on TV tonight. Faviana will be featured in a documentary on the influence of film in fashion, and vise versa. The special will feature clips from movies where fashion makes a statement. There will also be interviews from film stars, designers, stylists, film historians, and the owners of Faviana talk about how they take these dresses and turn them into “wearable fashion for the average woman.”

The show will feature past Faviana bestsellers including Keira Knightley’s green dress from Atonement, Nicole Kidman’s gown from The Golden Compass, Kate Hudson’s dress from How To Lose a Guy In Ten Days, and Kate Winslet’s gown from Titanic.

Tune into the Starz channel at 10pm eastern time for the Fashion In Film special to see why everyone wants to dress like a celebrity!

Paris knows how to dress

Love her or hate her, Paris Hilton knows what to wear! Here is a pic from the premiere of the new movie she is pushing called Repo! The Genetic Opera. The premise is interesting as it is a different kind of horror film. Set in the future, people’s organs start mysteriously failing which creates a kind of black market for human parts. The reviews are as you expect, nobody likes it, but then again, nobody likes horror flicks. We all loved Ms Hilton in House of Wax because of the nasty way she got killed in the flick. So here is hoping for another repeat performance!

Your pets hate you on Halloween

Just a reminder to all you animal lovers out there: Your pets do not think any of these Halloween shenanigans are funny. Dogs and cats are already dressed up in fur; so when you wrap them in more stuff, its really just annoying to them. Since you are not going to listen to me and dress them up anyway, be sure to give them plenty of water before taking them trick or treating or going to a party. Any animal “outfit” should be a little snug but NOT tight. Bringing along some little treats may not hurt either because around nine o’ clock, man’s best friend isn’t going to care that little Jane hasn’t been to enough houses yet. He will just want to go home, get that silly costume off, and lick himself until he falls asleep. In a related story, here is a picture of my new iphone.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon Carey hosted a Halloween party in New York last night. I am starting to think October 31st is just an excuse for the ladies to get as whore’d up as possible. Guests included Lil Jon, Kendra from The Girls Next Door, and Busta Rymes. We will be posting more pictures from parties as they roll in.

Another one of those viral videos has come out of the Hollywood production department. This one is directed by Stephen Spielberg, and what it lacks in being entertaining, it makes up for in celebrities telling us what to do. Because if you are anything like me, you would not know to go vote unless someone rich and famous tells you to do so.

The almost 5 minute commercial stars Will Smith, Harrison Ford, Ben Stiller, Julia Roberts, Cameron Diaz, Snoop, Scarlett Johannson, Justin Timberlake, Borat, Zach Braff, Ryan Reynolds, Shia LaBeouf, Orlando Bloom, Leonardo DiCaprio, Neil Patrick Harris, and Tobey Maguire, with special two second cameo’s by Ellen, Forest Whitaker, Jennifer Aniston, Eva Longoria, Ashton Kutcher, Jamie Fox, Benicio Del Toro, and about five regular people.
