Federal prosecutors have dropped the remaining tax evasion charge against 33-year-old race car driver, Helio Castroneves. He was indicted on the charge of Conspiracy to Defraud the U.S. and Tax Evasion last Fall, for allegedly not paying taxes on more than $5 million.

According to the indictment, Helio and two others are accused of using “an offshore Panamanian shell corporation Seven Promotions to conceal and disguise the true and correct amount of Helio Castroneves’ income from the Internal Revenue Service.”

Helio was indicted along with his sister, Katiucia Castroneves and lawyer, Alan Miller. They are accused of trying to “conceal and disguise” the driver’s income. One of the charges claims Helio received $2 million in salary from a Brazilian trading company but made it appear that he only received $200,000.

The former Dancing With The Stars champion is now completely in the clear since was acquitted of all charges (except this one) just last month. To celebrate, Castroneves took the checkered flag in Sunday’s Indianopolis 500, where he earned a record $3 million for his third win in the historic race.
