Laying to rest a Legend
The predicted spectacle/memorial service for the King of Pop was surprisingly somber and respectful. Celebrities, close friends and Michael’s family spent over two hours paying homage to the fallen star. Tens of thousands of celebrities and fans filled L.A.’s Staples Center for the service.

The speakers/singers include: Ron Boyd (family friend), Kobe Bryant, Mariah Carey, Andrae Crouch Choir, Berry Gordy, Jennifer Hudson, Shaheen Jafargholi (finalist on Britain’s Got Talent), Magic Johnson, Martin Luther King III, Bernice A. King, John Mayer, Lionel Richie, Smokey Robinson, Rev. Al Sharpton, Brooke Shields, Pastor Lucious Smith (family friend), Usher and Stevie Wonder.
Michael Jackson’s only daughter, 11-year-old Paris Michael Katherine, ended the service with an emotional speech at her father’s memorial service — saying he was the “best father you could ever imagine. I love him so much.”
