Mac Duggal, from New Delhi, India, came to the United States at just 23 years old and began designing evening wear. Located in Burr Ridge, Illinois, the headquarters for Mac Duggal Prom dresses is not far from Chicagoland. A suburb of the booming metropolitan, Burr Ridge has a population of just over 11,000. The origins of the suburb date back to 1917, when the International Harvester company purchased 414 acres for an experimental farm which tested the world's first all-purpose tractor. It wasn't until 1947 that Hinsdale Countryside Estates was established and then in 1956, its residents decided to incorporate the village of Harvester, in honor of International Harvester. In 1961, the name was changed to Burr Ridge, in lieu of the merger between International Harvester and Burr Ridge Dairy Farm.
Mac Duggal and associates do venture from the safety of home occasionally, and jet set to fashion markets for prom dresses across the country. We view the collection in Atlanta, Georgia and we are always intrigued by their large, roomy showrooms. A New York style runway is the centerpiece with additional showrooms for smaller prom dresses divisions flanking each side.
